Watch the Small Business Victoria Interview

If you haven’t logged onto the Next Marketing website recently you may not be aware that the video interview I had with Small Business Victoria is now available. To view it (5 minutes) – click here.

Silly season is upon us as we draw to the end of 2009. I have written my final 2009 article for the Marketing Magazine and now have until February 2010 to submit my next article. Phew!

, I would like to thankyou for reading the Next Marketing E newsletter in 2009.   I have seven Google adwords vouchers to give away as Christmas Gifts, an exclusive offer to the readers of this Newsletter.  Drop me a line to be the first to respond.

All the best for Christmas and look forward to catching up in 2010.

Do e newsletters generate sales?

Do e newsletters generate sales?

The million-dollar question! In my opinion the answer is definitely yes! A recent example from the Next Marketing business is a client who hadn’t issued an e newsletter in over two years and was keen to move away from the old ‘pdf’ file style newsletter to one like this – HTML. I was with the client when the first issue was sent and within one hour, they had received three phone calls and one direct email enquiry from people who had read the newsletter. All were requests for quotes/pricing information. A very powerful and real example!

If you are thinking of starting an e newsletter program in your business next year, drop me a line to discuss.

Free checklist - web terms in English!

Free checklist - web terms in English!

The area of website and the internet marketing is a language all of its own and it is quite a learning curve to know what all the terms mean and to keep up to date with the latest industry jargon.

To assist with ‘de-mystifying’ some of the commonly used terms, Next Marketing has created a checklist of web words explained in plain English! If you would like a copy, drop me a line.

Spammers fined $15.75m

Spammers fined $15.75m

The Australian Communications and Media Authority is the Australian Government body responsible for overseeing the Spam Act 2003.

What is the Spam Act? In short, it is the legislation that regulates unsolicited commercial electronic messages in Australia. Commercial electronic messages can be emails, SMS messages, MMS messages, instant messaging messages or any other similar messages.

In August this year, two companies - Mobilegate Ltd and Winning Bid Pty Ltd - and three individuals - were found recently to have contravened the Spam Act and the Trade Practices Act 1974 which has resulted in a $15.75m fine. A strong message to anybody in business – ensure that you have consent to send any commercial electronic messages to anyone on your database!
